Sub-Saharan Africa's foremost gathering for global universities to connect with counsellors from the region's best private and international schools.

Nairobi, Kenya
11-12 November 2024

Connect with the whole of Sub-Saharan Africa by visiting just one place

According to the World Bank, “Over the next three decades, the Sub-Saharan region will experience the fastest increase in the working age population of all regions, with a projected net increase of 740 million people by 2050. Up to 12 million youth will enter the labour market across the region every year in the coming decades.”

Where do you go if you’re looking for the best and brightest of Africa’s youth? Trends tell us that they typically emerge from top bilingual and international schools in the continent’s thriving metropolitan cities, which is exactly the reason why our event gets you inside that network!

We also know that it would be an extraordinary feat for a recruiter to cover so much territory on their own. So instead, we’re bringing the region’s top school counsellors into one of the safest and best connected cities: Nairobi. There, over 2 days, you will come face to face with counsellors from Ethiopia, Francophone Africa, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zimbabwe.

Expand your network to include the right types of schools from Africa

Participating counsellors from over 10 countries have been meticulously chosen from Sub-Saharan Africa’s most esteemed private, bilingual, and international schools. Moreover, these institutions are dedicated to fostering the counselling role and promoting study abroad opportunities.

This gives you the chance to connect with counsellors who actively shape the future study decisions of bright young African students and play a pivotal role in their final university application process.

Participating elite schools come from a range of profiles such as:

  • International schools including but not limited to the US, Canadian, British, French, and Australian curriculum.
  • Secondary schools that prepare students for GCSEs or A levels.
  • K-12 schools following the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme.
  • Private, bilingual, and gifted schools.
  • Religion-affiliated schools.

Get in touch with us to learn more about the elite schools that will attend.

New counsellor accreditation programme ensures you meet with key student influencers in Africa

We go to great lengths to fly in counsellors from across the continent and we cover all of their transportation, accommodation and event participation costs. Using our local knowledge and global connections in the international schools sector, we are able to engage with principals and counsellors to invite them to the event and explain how meeting with university partners from overseas will help them improve the way they counsel students and parents.

High school counsellors are also attracted to the Africa International Schools Forum & Workshop because they can participate in professional development seminars that tackle key issues such as academic testing, how to improve the counselling profession, and managing various visa processes. This extra academic content and training provides school counsellors and principals with credits towards completing the Times Higher Education Counsellor Accreditation Programme (THE CAP), which will give them a globally recognised accreditation and their school will become a THE Accredited Counsellor School.

This compelling programme ensures that we attract the right high schools for you to meet, train and form new relationships with in order to encourage outbound student mobility.
