BMI, global events and educational services company, is delighted to announce a new partnership with Times Higher Education (THE), the trusted global data partner for higher education, for its new student business unit.
The partnership will initially see BMI and THE Student deliver a series of virtual student fairs in March 2021 for the Indian, African and Asian markets. Branded as “THE Student Virtual Fairs, in partnership with Talk Global Study”, the intention is to run regular events across the globe, both virtually and in-person.
These events will bring together world-leading higher education institutions and thousands of prospective international students. Free for students to attend, content will include a series of seminars discussing topics including university rankings, how to choose the best course and other subjects of interest to those looking to study abroad.
India – Saturday 13 March from 15:00 to 18:00 (IST)
Africa – Saturday 20 March from 11:00 to 14:00 (GMT)
Asia – Saturday 27 March from 09:00 to 12:00 (GMT)
The partnership complements the ongoing work by THE to help the millions of students currently consulting its website every year by providing end-to-end support for those looking to study abroad and navigate the often-challenging journey into higher education. THE plans to offer a number of events alongside a dedicated online platform showcasing advice, insights and resources to aid prospective international students in making one of the biggest decisions of their lives – who to trust with their education.
Samir Zaveri, President and CEO at BMI, said: “Joining forces felt like a natural partnership given the popularity of THE’s university rankings and the need for prospective students to meet institutions at world-class virtual and physical events across the world. By coming together, millions of students using their platform will now be able to meet universities at BMI’s leading international education fairs.
Throughout our 30+ years of experience in the international education industry, we’ve seen that students are eager to learn more about highly ranked universities, and enabling them to connect with those institutions at our events will give them additional opportunities and help them make more informed decisions in their academic journeys.”
Patrick Hayes, Chief Development Officer at THE, commented: “The addition of BMI to our network of partners is hugely exciting. Together we can provide first-class events for those looking to study abroad, connecting them with institutions that best serve their requirements and helping them into international study across a number of destination countries.
With BMI’s unparalleled expertise in events and marketing, THE Student is ensuring it can hit the ground running with its new student proposition, and will provide indispensable support to international students-to-be from day one of their study abroad journey.”
Institutions are encouraged to express their interest in joining these events by contacting BMI as soon as possible since exhibitor spaces are expected to fill up quickly.
Since 1987, BMI has been helping the international education industry to connect and support student mobility. More than 2,400 institutions from over 40 countries have participated in BMI events including national government bodies such as the British Council, Campus France, DAAD, Education in Ireland, EduCanada, Education USA, Austrade, the European Commission and the Ministries of Education from around the world.
