While our Southeast Asia International Schools Forum & Workshop brings together several nations from the region, when it comes to a country the size of China, it’s essential to have an event dedicated exclusively to the Chinese school sector. Pulling in the best counsellors and principals from renowned international and private high schools across China, this workshop will provide you with an exceptional opportunity to build and strengthen relationships with one of the most formidable networks across a country that is home to 1.4+ billion people.
To ensure that only the best schools with a strong record of sending students abroad for higher education attend, BMI/THE will reference-check all counsellors before extending an invitation. On qualifying to attend, we will pay for their transportation to Beijing, hotel room and meals. By controlling the selection process and facilitating their participation, we are able to ensure that higher education institutions are meeting with the right influencers from across China’s top cities.
Once you are registered, you will be able to choose the specific high school representatives you’d like to meet and pre-organise all of your appointments using the online scheduling system Marcom. Plus, you can relax and unwind together during various networking breaks, lunches and the gala dinner. This mix of formal and casual interactions allows you to meet representatives from new schools you are not currently partnered with as well as reinforce your relationships with school contacts who sow the seeds for studying abroad from early on.

During our workshop, counsellors will also attend educational seminars which form part of Times Higher Education Counsellor Accreditation Programme (THE CAP). Consisting of 12 modules and covering a solid range of content to help improve counsellors’ daily tasks when advising students, THE CAP is a ground-breaking professional development programme to support the international school sector.
All attending counsellors will receive some in-person training from THE CAP during the event, and then finish the remaining sessions online. Once completed, they will be among an elite cohort of school counsellors who hold a globally recognised accreditation, bolstering their career profile and thereby enhancing the reputation of their school.
The fact that the counsellors and school leaders can obtain this extra professional development training and certification is a huge incentive for them to attend the Forum & Workshop.
