Join our dynamic team as an Event Project Manager with BMI / Times Higher Education, a global leader in student recruitment events. Elevate your career in the vibrant realm of education and travel.

We’re on the lookout for an accomplished Event Director to spearhead our expansion into new and exciting markets beyond Asia, the Middle East, Brazil, and Spanish-speaking Latin America. In 2024, we’re set to host over 100 in-person and virtual recruitment B2C and B2B events. As an Event Director, you will showcase a track record of consistently delivering outstanding results, backed by strong leadership skills, strategic decision-making, and the ability to inspire and mobilize teams.

In this pivotal role, you’ll be responsible for managing a portfolio of international events and overseeing a budget of up to USD 1,000,000 per year. Your proficiency in event budgeting, coupled with a knack for devising innovative solutions to complex challenges, will be key. Collaborative prowess, excellent relationship-building skills, and a drive to enhance visitor and client experiences at our large-scale education events are must-haves.

With a minimum of 5 years’ experience in the events sector, you will bring a wealth of knowledge to the table. Your expertise should extend to multitasking and confidently handling end-to-end logistics, event content, supplier sourcing, venue coordination, and travel arrangements. Your involvement will span marketing campaigns, collaboration with partners and clients, and regular reporting to senior management on progress. Finally, you will be the senior person on the ground at your events where you will execute them to a world-class standard. 

This position demands a self-starter with a strong work ethic, based in Holborn, London. Given our global reach, international travel is a regular part of the role. BMI/Times Higher Education is committed to diversity, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds.

Role Requirements:

  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, with adaptability to learn new software.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in event organisation.
  • Organised, committed, responsible, detail-oriented, and highly self-disciplined.
  • Willingness to travel overseas when required.
  • International language proficiency and experience in the education sector are advantageous.
  • Right to work in the UK.
