Uncover the potential in Sub-Saharan Africa’s diverse education landscape

From Africa’s largest outbound market Nigeria to budding sending nations like Tanzania, the recruitment potential in Africa is as unlimited as its sunshine.

Whilst traditional destinations such as France, the US or UK maintain their popularity, Africans are increasingly interested in spreading their wings to China, Canada, Australia, Russia, Europe and the Middle East, proving that opportunities abound for institutions worldwide.

African students are eager to increase their employability and advance their careers, resulting in strong demand for an overseas education. Moreover, the continent’s burgeoning youth populations combined with a challenging education scene at home regarding quality concerns and a lack of available spaces will continue to drive outbound mobility for the foreseeable future.

BMI officially entered the African recruitment market in 2020 with the launch of our virtual event platform Talk Global Study. Highly targetted campaigns on behalf of the Irish government promoted study abroad opportunities in the Emerald Isle to thousands of eager students from East Africa. Due to the overwhelming success of those events, we’ve been expanding the schedule and country scope ever since. With so much growth coming out of the African continent, this is a region you can’t afford to underestimate – mark your calendars and register now while there’s still availability.

Meet ambitious students from Ghana, Kenya and Nigeria at our renowned education fairs

Launching in November 2024 and building on the strength of similar events run around the world, BMI/THE is excited to host their famous student fairs in East and West Africa. These events will give you a chance to spend quality time face-to-face with students and their families as they consider which path to take for higher education.

This powerful event series will support your long term enrolment strategies for Sub-Saharan Africa, targeting the top sending nations which will fuel recruitment funnels for years to come.

Connect with influential school counsellors from across Africa in one location

Taking place in Kenya this November and flying in high school counsellors from over 10 African countries, at the Africa International Schools Forum & Workshop, you will meet and mingle with influential school contacts who can put your brand in front of aspiring international students and sow the seeds for studying abroad from early on.

BMI/THE will reference-check counsellors and only choose those from the best schools with a strong record of sending students abroad for higher education. On qualifying to attend, BMI/THE pays for their flights to Nairobi, hotel room and meals. By controlling the selection process and facilitating their attendance, we are able to ensure that higher education institutions are meeting with the right influencers from across the Sub-Saharan region.

Receive funded students from Africa via scholarship programmes

As the most prestigious event on BMI/THE’s calendar, the Global Scholarship Forum  attracts all the key scholarship programme providers from over 40 countries around the world. Held each spring in London, the Summit gives you an unprecedented opportunity to form alliances with scholarship organisations from Africa (such as Ghana, Kenya, Malawi, Nigeria, Seychelles, South Africa, Uganda) and other nations from all over the globe.

In the international education industry, there is truly no other event like it. Spaces are limited and sell out every year; register now before it’s too late!
