An official delegation of EU Universities will return to Brazil (Sao Paulo) and Colombia (Bogota and Cali) this November to participate in the Euro Pos Brazil and Europosgrados Colombia 2014 fairs.
The return of Euro Pos to Brazil, which was last held in 2011, couldn’t be better-timed following last week’s announcement by the President of Brazil, that the Science Without Borders programme has been extended well past the original closing date of September 2014 and been further enhanced by the addition of another 100,000 scholarships. “With all the market activity in Brazil at the moment, we are very happy to be returning to Sao Paulo this November 29 and 30.” Said Olivier Chiche Portiche, Promotion Director of Campus France.
“The number of Brazilian undertaking postgraduate study in Europe is at an all-time high. With Europe set to receive even more students through the Brazilian Government Scholarship Programs, Euro Pos Brazil 2014 is expected to attract the largest ever number of visitors for a postgraduate event in Brazil.”
“Obviously there is the interest around Science without Borders but the opportunity for institutions to set themselves up for long term sustainable growth by targeting both Postgraduate and full degree Undergraduate Brazilian students is an important strategic consideration.”
“We are also seeing that Brazilians are developing a wider taste for a broader range of study destinations and are diversifying away from traditional Anglo-Saxon markets. Although France and Germany, through their operating agencies Campus France and DAAD, were among the first receiving countries of the Sciences Without Borders students, Europe still accounts for almost 68% of all these students.” explains Mr Chiche Portiche.
EU Universities continue to succeed in Colombia
Mr Chiche Portiche also points to Europe’s success in Colombia. “Colombian universities are in the process of internationalization, and Europe is the region where they are most interested in creating new partnerships. The interest of Colombian students in Europe has been growing at a steady pace over the last 5 years, as an alternative to the usual US path to Postgraduate programmes.”
Now in its 8th consecutive year, the popularity of Europe has clearly been demonstrated at the Europosgrados events in Colombia and will for the first time combine with Euro Pos in Brazil this year, providing a platform to reach students in the two of the most important markets in South America.
The Colombia events are organized with the support of Colfuturo, a very important player in the field of scholarships and funding in Colombia, but the numbers also show that self-funded students are getting more important.
Important background on Europosgrados and Euro Pos
Europosgrados Colombia is owned and organised by Campus France/DAAD and Europós Brazil by Campus France/DAAD/Nuffic Neso Brazil. Having successfully run Europosgrados Colombia since 2008, the organisers’ have again selected BMI to now operate the fairs in both of these important markets.
This event is exclusively for accredited European Universities, business schools, pathway programmes, appropriate language providers and official European country groups.
Over 100 EU Universities will participate in the fairs from over 14 European countries.
An invitation to European universities and country marketing groups
The strength of Europosgrados and Euro Pos is the diverse range of courses, institutions and countries it offers to students. We encourage all accredited EU Universities and national education organisations to apply to join this European initiative in Colombia and in Brazil.
